Our Mission

Our mission is to bridge the talent gap for companies and create opportunities for students to gain valuable career experiences.

We serve students by:

Providing them with career exploration and discovery opportunities.
Providing quality career experiences including career 1:1’s, job shadowing, career panel, pre-internships, and internships.
Preparing them for those experiences.

We serve companies by:

Recruiting and Preparing students to fill their business needs for internships, apprentices, project workers, skill-building positions, and entry-level positions.
Connecting business to the classroom to ensure curriculum and students are ready for the future of work at these businesses.

Our Vision is to be the leading facilitator in bridging the talent gap between companies and students, empowering both parties with valuable career experiences and contributing to a robust, competitive workforce that retains talent within our region

Our Vision

XLP TIMELINE

Started in 2017 - run by one staff member with the mission of delivering career experiences to students.

March 2023 XLP (advised by Joe Schroeder) piloted its first 10 students to provide resume and career help

February 2022 XLP piloted its first 6 students officially becoming a student-run business

August 2023 piloted 25 students with career advisors, managers and aimed to help students with their career development skills, maintaining the same goal that was established in 2017
